A familiar and welcome part of any modern jazz ensemble and orchestral brass section, the trombone had its origin in the Renaissance. Though fashioned in almost every size imaginable – from piccolo to bass – it has today most often found its use in its tenor or bass form. Its capabilities of providing a voicing from smooth and mellow to resonant and stentorian, attest to its versatility (think Mancini to Williams).
As with our other instrumental libraries, the SOLO Tenor Trombone Library has been produced with the utmost care to provide musicians and composers with an instrument having a wide variety sound-sculpting FX, all the articulations necessary to create a realistic performance, imminently user-friendly interface, with meticulously-recorded instrumental samples.
We recorded all intervals for up and down articulations in three variants: normal Legato, Portamento and Glissando. We have provided the ability to vary the dynamics of the instrument to convey a wide, detailed range of expression from pp to ff. Natural and LFO vibrato may be added to the sound at any time. Sustain, Staccato and Marcato articulations provide added realism by means of a round-robin algorithm. The articulations and exclusive tone were specifically designed to enable your trombone solo to stand out clearly “in the mix”.
